The workshop is suitable for early childhood educators, primary school teachers, principals, parents, grandparents and allied health professionals – anyone who works with and supports children. We encourage the full team to attend so that meaningful changes can be made following the workshop.

In this 6 hour workshop (or longer by agreement) Deb will address easy to implement take away strategies for helping pre-schoolers or school age children to cope at home, preschool/ school and in the community.

This workshop runs with registration from 8.30am, with the workshop from 9am – 3pm.

Following the workshop, participants will

  1. Have an understanding of the neurological background to sensory processing difficulties, and why strategies and resources might be recommended for supporting children.
  2. Know how to identify possible sensory processing difficulties in an early childhood, school or health care setting.
  3. Know and understand practical and easy to implement intervention strategies.
  4. Understand the Just Right Kids Model for teaching children and parents about the basics of sensory processing and self-regulation. This can also be used as a visual for everyday use.
  5. Know where to go for further help or assistance.
  6. Creating ‘sensory safe’ environments and playgrounds to meet children’s learning needs.

Deb Hopper is available to travel to your town and present this to as many people as you want.
