In this episode Deb speaks to Bonny Marsh from Small Connections, a Speech Pathologist with over 20 years of experience specializing in the birth to five age range. She’s spent her career supporting teachers, families, and children with communication issues, including receptive and expressive language delays.
She created the CALM Model, which is a child and family-centered approach to speech difficulties. It came about from the last 17 years spent working to support the community around children.
We discuss the CALM Model and how she uses that to engage and support families and children. She shares some tips and tricks for helping children learn to communicate with words.
